I was listening to this sermon and only for five mintues I couldn’t take it! Existential Christian struggle is just ozzing out of it! Sadly, many of the Christian youth are nothing but moralist and have no value for their Christian existence because they’re sheltered. However, they do not have to make the same mistake that Adam made in the garden by ‘testing the boundaries’ to see if staying with God is truly worth it. My advice to all the youth is this: Reject the experience stories if they make you envious! Get some spiritual maturity by missionary work or something missional. Generate a compassion for the lost and needy. Your saved already! The trauma of being horrified by a past sinful life is not worth it. Trust me, I was one of those kids that ran out the church to ‘do my own thing’. If anything, learn from other peoples mistakes an don’t be a slave to your feelings. Feelings don’t define your closeness with God. God is another being. Were not Panentheists were Christians. The value of faith should not be to strongly tied to messing up and backsliding to authenticate our Christianity as valid. Sorry if I said too much. I just feel for those kids that feel like what your sister said.
    Blessings.
